Ninja Turtles Film Poster Causes 9/11 Anger

A poster showing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles falling from a skyscraper with the date September 11 has appeared on Twitter.

The poster has been deleted from the Twitter feed

The apparent promotional image was shared on Paramount Australia's Twitter account but was removed when it started receiving criticism from users.

@JDDrake wrote: "Real smart, marketing team" and @JRBTempe tweeted: "Somebody's getting fired."

The Michael Bay-produced film hits cinemas in Australia on the same day that the 13th anniversary of the terror attacks on New York's Twin Towers will be commemorated.

Paramount Australia later tweeted several other less controversial images promoting the movie.
