Barnsley woman's Facebook letter goes viral

Lindsey Swift
A woman's open letter to an "idiot" van driver who heckled her about her weight while she was jogging has been shared online more than 2,000 times.
Lindsey Swift, of Barnsley, said the man sang a "sarcastic" rendition of pop song Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) as he drove past.
In the letter on Facebook, the 26-year-old told the driver if he was offended by seeing her running "try driving with your eyes closed".
She said: "I wanted to have my say."
"Normally I don't get militant about these things, idiots are idiots," the letter continued.
"However, I can see why comments like these might put a person less confident than me off from running, and that is shameful. Everyone starts somewhere.
"[But] if my fat arse running (quite slowly I might add, I was shattered) offends you and spoils your journey, try driving with your eyes closed, into a lamppost."

'Embarrassing situation'

The letter has been shared more than 2,000 times on Facebook
Ms Swift, who is training for a 10km (six miles) run, said she was heckled near Barnsley on 6 August.
She said: "It was quite an embarrassing situation.
"Usually I'm not easily hurt, but my boyfriend was running a little bit ahead of me and so he stopped and I had to explain the situation to him. It was quite intimidating.
"Because he drove past I did not have a chance to respond to him in person.
"Everybody has an opinion about health and things like that but some things, like my body, are not public property and I do not think anybody has the right to make comments like that."
She said she had received numerous messages of support since posting the letter on Friday.
Clare Wright wrote: "Well said Lindsey. You're doing fab! It's awful. I hate running round where I live because of the hecklers!"
Chloe Standish said: "Well said Lindsey!! You keep going girl you're doing brilliant!! And you're beautiful inside and out."

North Korea's vice premier Choe Yong-Gon has been executed for voicing frustration at the policies of leader Kim Jong-Un, South Korea's Yonhap news agency says.
Mr Choe, who took the job in June 2014, was executed by firing squad in May after voicing opposition to forestry policies promoted by Mr Kim, Yonhap said, citing an anonymous source "with knowledge of the North".
The vice premier has not been mentioned in the North's state media since last October, it added, in another apparent sign he had been purged.
The execution of the 63-year-old former delegate for North-South cooperation marks another death of a senior official in a series of high-level purges since Kim Jong-Un took charge in late 2011.
Mr Choe's death, if confirmed, would be the second reported this year.
Hyon Yong-Chol was said to have been executed in April by anti-aircraft fire for insubordination and dozing off during formal military rallies.

Hillary Clinton has agreed to hand over to the FBI the private email server that she used as secretary of state.
Her use of private email has generated a barrage of criticism as Mrs Clinton runs for president.
Critics say that her set-up was unsecure, contrary to government policy and designed to shield her communications from oversight.
The FBI is investigating whether classified information was improperly sent via the server and stored there.
Mrs Clinton initially handed over thousands of pages of emails to the state department, but not the server.
Her lawyers will also hand over to the FBI memory sticks which contain the copies of the emails.
Her use of private email has been a major issue in the presidential race. Polls show an increasing number of voters view her as "untrustworthy" due in part to the questions surrounding her email use.
Under US federal law, officials' correspondence is considered to be US government property.

Severe weather warnings are issued for England and Wales amid predictions that a month's rain could fall in 48 hours.

Hail, thunder and heavy rainfall are forecast this week prompting severe weather warnings and fears of flooding.
Forecasters predict that between 30 and 50mm of rain could fall on Thursday and Friday - the average for the whole month of August.

Torrential thunderstorms, and even hail, is expected to fall over England and Wales, as low pressure moves over from Spain.
Met Office severe weather warnings have been issued for Wales and all English regions except the North East on Thursday.
The warnings have been issued for Wales and all English regions on Friday.
Incoming: A forecast pressure chart valid for Friday at 1am shows the location of a low pressure system over the South East of England
The weather system is expected to clear to the east during Saturday, replaced with drier, fresher weather, with some sunshine.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Current indications are that central and southern England and Wales are most likely to be affected.
"We may also have hail and thunder, this is most likely early on Thursday and then again Friday afternoon.
"As we have already seen this summer, this type of weather situation has the potential to cause sudden, localised surface water flooding and hazardous travelling conditions."
