Pink Floyd to release first album in 20 years
British prog rock legends Pink Floyd are set to release a new album called The Endless River in October, their first in 20 years.
The surprise news came in a posting on Twitter by author Polly Samson, who is married to the band's guitarist David Gilmour.
Ms Samson has previously written lyrics for the band.
In the past two days the tweet has been retweeted 5,840 times.
Keyboard player Richard Wright, a founding member of the band, died of cancer in 2008 at the age of 65.
Pink Floyd have sold more than 250 million copies of albums such as Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here worldwide since they formed in 1965.
The band was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
