Gaza conflict: Israel expands ground offensive with no sign of ceasefire.
Israel says it is expanding its ground offensive into Gaza while militants keep up rocket fire into the Jewish state with no sign of a diplomatic breakthrough to end the fighting that is reported to have claimed 345 Palestinian lives and seven Israelis.
Israel is reporting half of Hamas's rocket supply has been used or destroyed and the additional forces will seek to secure more supplies by destroying a series of tunnels out of Gaza.
The fighting is reported to be the worst conflict between Hamas and Israel in two years.
Gaza residents are saying episodes of land and naval shelling were the heaviest in 13 days of fighting.
